Hughenden St Michael & All Angels, Hughenden Valley

There has been a place of worship on this site since the twelfth century and whether you are a newcomer to the area or a visitor we hope you will enjoy the time you spend in our peaceful and historic church.

As you drive along the lovely Hughenden Valley, St Michael and All Angels Church, "The Church in the Park", can be seen nestling on the hillside with the sixteenth century Church House alongside it. Set in the middle of Hughenden Park, Hughenden Church serves the communities of Hughenden Valley, Naphill and Great Kingshill whilst welcoming numerous visitors who find us while visiting Hughenden Manor (National Trust).
The church is unique in that it has the only memorial to a commoner (Benjamin Disraeli) erected by a monarch (Queen Victoria).
Hughenden is a church which offers a warm welcome through services of all styles. We have both traditional and modern services every week and aim to offer something for everyone. We provide creche facilities at Family service (10.30am) and have a thriving JC Club for school-age children. In conjunction with our fellow Christians in the Community members (the Naphill Methodist and Evangelical Free Churches) we run clubs for both primary and secondary school age children and each summer organise a four-day Holiday Club. During the week there are regular opportunities for prayer and major festivals are celebrated with evening services. Come and see us - we'd love to see you!

A said Communion service following the Book of Common Prayer on the first Sunday of the month and Common Worship Traditional for all others.
Every Sunday at 8:00 AM for ¾ hour

Choral Communion

A choir-led service following Common Worship (Traditional)
Every first Sunday at 9:00 AM for 1 hour

Mattins

A choir-led service following the Book of Common Prayer. Over the winter months, the service on the second Sunday is a traditional Cathedral-style Choral Mattins.
Every second fourth and fifth Sunday at 9:00 AM for 50 minutes

Every third Sunday at 9:00 AM for 1 hour

All Age Family Service

An opportunity for all age groups to worship together.
Every first Sunday at 10:30 AM for 1 hour

Family Communion

An opportunity for families and individuals of all ages to share in the breaking of bread.
Every second fourth and fifth Sunday at 10:30 AM for 1 hour

Informal Service

An opportunity to explore the many ways of worship open to us.
Every third Sunday at 10:30 AM for 1 hour

Evensong

A quiet, reflective end to the weekend following the Book of Common Prayer service. Throughout the summer months, a cathedral-style Choral Evensong service is held on the third Sunday of the month, giving us the opportunity to experience some of the wealth of music written over the centuries in praise of God.

Ladies' Daytime Fellowship & Bible Study Housegroup
For those who are available during the day, an opportunity for fellowship and bible study.
Alternate Mondays every Monday at 10:15 AM for 1 hour

Morning Prayer
An opportunity during the week to pray for the needs of the world.
Every Tuesday at 7:45 AM for 35 minutes

Wednesday

Tiny Tots' Service
A simple act of worship for mothers and all children under school age.
Every third Wednesday at 1:45 PM for ½ hour

Thursday

Morning Prayer
An opportunity during the week to pray for the needs of the world

Friendship Morning
A social morning for anyone who is bereaved, lonely or just wanting some friendly company.
