St John's has been serving Lower Caversham since 1888. We are a
welcoming church, with an active Mothers' Union.

In 2008, we are celebrating the 120th anniversary of the
consecration of St John's and will be holding a number of special
events.

Usually held on the first and third Sundays in the month every first and third Sunday at 8:00 AM for 40 minutes

Parish Communion

Sung Communion Service, with sermon, Common Worship Order 1
Every Sunday at 10:00 AM for 1 hour

Thursday

Holy Communion
Said service of Holy Communion, Common Worship Order 2.
Every Thursday at 10:00 AM for 40 minutes

Evensong

To celebrate the 120th anniversary of the dedication of St John's church. There will be refreshments in Caversham Hall afterwards.

Saturday 8th November 2008 at 3:00 PM for 1 hour

Requiem

As part of our celebrations of the 120th anniversary of the consecration of St John's, this service of remembrance will feature music especially composed by Len David in 2008. The seven movements of the requiem will be performed by two choirs (St John’s and Bucklebury) with instrumentalists. The service of Holy Communion will also include the reading out of the names of those to be remembered. There will be a retiring collection in aid of Helen House.
