Thorpe Market: St Margaret, Thorpe Market

About our church
unique georgian church (1796) built by Lord Suffield to replace a larger derelict one. Nowadays a lively venue for exhibitions, concerts and other cultural activities. Regular services, 1st Sunday H.C. at 10.45am and 3rd Sunday family gathering at 6.30pm. (We think we are "low traditional"!) Home to "Cantamus" community choir. An RSCM affiliated group who rehearse and perform in the church. "Village Folk" band also reside at the church, aged 7 to 70 they have a huge repertoire and play at occasional services and raise money by busking for good causes. Although Thorpe Market is a small village of only a 100 or so houses, the church has a reputation for "doing things" over a wide area. And an estimated 5,000 people visit the church every year. Our comprehensive website includes conservation, genealogy and up to date events and services schedule as well as a photo gallery.
