Beckenham: St Michael & All Angels, Beckenham

We are a friendly, welcoming church tucked in between Penge and Beckenham on Ravenscroft Road BR3. Saint Michael's has always been in the Catholic tradition in the Church of England, and we hope that we combine a 'traditional' theology with a modern but dignified style of worship. We have two Masses on Sundays, and a Mass every weekday, and Sunday School meets at 10.30 in the narthex of the church. Our Parish Priest is Fr Christopher Smith. Anybody wanting to talk about baptism (Christening) or marriage should come and see him after Mass on any Sunday.
We have recently celebrated fifty years of the church building, which was consecrated on 20th October 1956, its predecessor having been bombed during the war. In time for the celebrations, the church was redecorated, and is now looking clean and bright.
We also place great store by our social life together, and every month sees us getting together for a meal, a quiz, bingo, a barbecue, a sing-along, or pilgrimages and away-days.
Built: 1956
Architect: Hobday and Maynard
Style of worship: Modern Catholic
Our Patron: Society for the Maintenance of the Faith
Parish Mass
Our main Sunday service is at 10.30 am, and there is an early Mass at 8.30. Visitors are always made welcome, and everyone is welcome to stay afterwards for a cup of coffee and a natter. Don't worry about bringing the children: there are always some around, and usually a collection of parked pushchairs! There is also a Mass on each weekday: see the weekly newsletter for details, because the times have to vary sometimes.
Every Sunday at 10:30 AM
